Bedrock Edition isn't supported yet
Bedrock places structures and slime chunks differently from Java, so we don't show Java results for a Bedrock world. Bedrock support is coming. Switch to Java to use the map.

What is a jungle temple?
A jungle temple, called a jungle pyramid on the wiki, is a mossy cobblestone building in the jungle with two loot chests: one behind a lever puzzle and one at the end of an arrow trap. 5 things to look for inside:
- Two loot chests: one behind a three-lever puzzle, one at the end of a trapped hallway
- Diamonds, emeralds, gold and iron ingots, enchanted books and horse armor
- Wild armor trim templates
- Dispensers loaded with arrows
- Sticky pistons and redstone used in the puzzle
Watch out: Two tripwires hidden behind vines are linked to dispensers holding arrows. Walking through a tripwire fires the dispenser, and so does breaking it with anything other than shears.
Where jungle temples generate
Jungle temples generate above ground in jungles and bamboo jungles, but not in sparse jungles.
This is how the jungle temples in our test areas split between biomes:
| Biome | Share of jungle temples |
|---|---|
| Jungle | 81.4% |
| Bamboo jungle | 18.6% |
Measured with our engine on 10 test seeds, Java 1.21.1, in an area of 8,192 × 8,192 blocks around 0, 0 for each seed. Biome taken at the centre of each start chunk, at Y 64.
How far apart jungle temples are
The game splits the Overworld into square regions of 32 × 32 chunks (512 × 512 blocks) and makes one attempt in each. Our test areas held about 256 regions each and between 4 and 12 jungle temples, so about 3% of regions got one.
| Measure | Closest seed | Median seed | Furthest seed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nearest to 0, 0 (blocks) | 806 | 1,557 | 2,982 |
| Number in 8,192 × 8,192 blocks | 12 | 7 | 4 |

The median is a typical seed. Yours can be much closer or further, which is why the finder lists results for your exact seed.
Tips for finding and exploring jungle temples
- Cut the tripwires with shears so they don’t fire the arrow traps.
- Lever puzzle: flip the lever farthest from the stairs, then the closest one, then the closest one back, then the farthest one back. A block slides away and shows the hidden chest.
- A temple only generates on suitable terrain, which the map can only estimate, so check a result in game before a long trip.
How to use the coordinates in game
- Press F3 to see your own X and Z, then head towards the result’s X and Z. Jungle temples are on the surface.
- With cheats on, tap a marker or Copy and run
/tp @s X ~ Z; the~keeps your current height. - The coordinates are the north-west corner of the chunk the jungle temple starts in, the same chunk
/locate structure minecraft:jungle_pyramidpoints to.
Set “Search near” to your base or the map centre to list jungle temples around a different spot. To see jungle temples next to every other structure type, use the structure finder.
How accurate the jungle temple finder is
We started a real Java 1.21.1 server for 10 test seeds. Our nearest jungle temple to 0, 0 matched the game’s /locate on 8 of 10 seeds, and the game confirmed 23 of the 28 jungle temples we listed. Depends on the terrain, which the map can only estimate, so some results may not exist. Check in game. Other versions haven’t been checked against the game yet.
Bedrock Edition: Java only for now
On Bedrock, jungle temples don’t generate in bamboo jungles. A Java map would point you to the wrong places, so the finder doesn’t show Bedrock results yet.
