Structures and search area
Bedrock Edition isn't supported yet
Bedrock places structures and slime chunks differently from Java, so we don't show Java results for a Bedrock world. Bedrock support is coming. Switch to Java to use the map.

What are trial chambers?
Trial chambers are underground copper and tuff-brick buildings full of combat challenges. Players raid them for vault loot, breeze rods and heavy cores, the only way to make a mace. 6 things to look for inside:
- Trial spawners, which can drop trial keys
- Vaults you open with trial keys
- Ominous vaults you open with ominous trial keys
- Heavy cores, which only come from vaults
- Breezes, whose breeze rods craft wind charges
- Copper blocks, copper bulbs and tuff bricks
Watch out: Trial spawners release breezes, bogged, zombies, husks, skeletons, strays, spiders, cave spiders, slimes and silverfish. Some chambers also have trap dispensers.
Where trial chambers generate
Trial chambers generate under every Overworld biome except the deep dark. They are underground: the starting room is between Y -40 and Y -20, and the rest of the building can reach outside that range.
The map can’t tell you a biome for trial chambers: they are underground, so the surface biome above them says little about where they are.
How far apart trial chambers are
The game splits the Overworld into square regions of 34 × 34 chunks (544 × 544 blocks) and makes one attempt in each. Our test areas held about 227 regions each and between 209 and 228 trial chambers, so about 97% of regions got one.
| Measure | Closest seed | Median seed | Furthest seed |

The median is a typical seed. Yours can be much closer or further, which is why the finder lists results for your exact seed.
Tips for finding and exploring trial chambers
- Journeyman cartographer villagers sell a trial explorer map for 12 emeralds and a compass.
- Entering with Bad Omen turns it into Trial Omen and makes the spawners ominous. They are harder, but can drop ominous trial keys (30% chance) for ominous vaults.
- They are buried, so look for oddly shaped caves with copper or tuff bricks in the walls.
How to use the coordinates in game
- Press F3 to see your own X and Z, then head towards the result’s X and Z. Trial chambers are underground, with the starting room between Y -40 and Y -20, so dig down to about Y -30 at the coordinates.
- With cheats on, tap a marker or Copy and run
/tp @s X ~ Z; the~keeps your current height. - The coordinates are the north-west corner of the chunk the trial chambers starts in, the same chunk
/locate structure minecraft:trial_chamberspoints to.
Set “Search near” to your base or the map centre to list trial chambers around a different spot. To see trial chambers next to every other structure type, use the structure finder.
How accurate the trial chambers finder is
We started a real Java 1.21.1 server for 10 test seeds. Our nearest result to 0, 0 matched the game’s /locate on 10 of 10 seeds, and the game confirmed 50 of the 50 trial chambers we listed. Other versions haven’t been checked against the game yet.
Bedrock Edition: Java only for now
The wiki says trial chambers generate in the same places on Java and Bedrock, one of the only structures that do. We haven’t checked that against a Bedrock world, so the finder doesn’t show Bedrock results. A Java map would point you to the wrong places, so the finder doesn’t show Bedrock results yet.
