How the finders compare

Every structure finder uses the same engine, so they differ only in how rare the structure is and how sure we can be that it really generates. We tested each one against a real Java 1.21.1 server on 10 seeds: 16 of the 21 structure types matched the game on every result we listed.

Measured with our engine on 10 test seeds, Java 1.21.1, in an area of 8,192 × 8,192 blocks around 0, 0 for each seed. “Confirmed by the game”: listed results that /locate found in a real Java 1.21.1 world.

Rare structures such as woodland mansions and swamp huts can be thousands of blocks away, so check the list before you set off. Common ones such as mineshafts, ocean ruins and trial chambers are usually within a few hundred blocks. Desert pyramids, jungle temples, woodland mansions and trail ruins depend on the terrain, which the map can only estimate, so their results carry a “check in game” note.

How to choose a finder

Not on the map yet

Some features need the game’s block-by-block terrain, or a version newer than 1.21.4, which our engine doesn’t compute yet: dungeons, amethyst geodes, ore veins, ravines and caves, lava pools, fossils, desert wells, End gateways, enchanted golden apple chests and abandoned camps. We’d rather leave them out than show coordinates we can’t stand behind. For ores, the ore Y-level guide shows the best height to mine at in the meantime.

Frequently asked questions

What is a chunk finder?

A tool that works out from your world seed which chunks hold a structure, a biome or slime chunks, so you know where to go without exploring. Every finder here is one, set to a single thing.

Are these finders free?

Yes. They run in your browser, with no account, and your seed isn’t uploaded.

Which finder should I use to reach the End?

The stronghold finder: strongholds hold the only End portals.

Do the finders work on Bedrock?

Not yet. Every finder shows a notice when you switch to Bedrock instead of showing Java results.

Bedrock Edition isn’t supported yet; every finder says so when you switch to Bedrock.
